Student Travel Grant
Overview
WUWNet 2007 expects to receive a limited number of travel grants from the U.S. National Science Foundation (NSF). The grants aim to support graduate students in U.S. academic institutions to attend the 2007 ACM International Workshop on UnderWater Networks (WUWNet'07) in Montreal , Quebec , Canada . The goal is to broaden participation in the workshop by supporting students with interests in underwater network research who would otherwise be unable to attend.
The amount of support provided to each student will be up to a maximum of $800 if they are not local (more than three hours of driving distance from the workshop site) and up to $500 otherwise. The support is intended to defray, but not necessarily to cover entirely, the costs of attending the workshop. The costs include workshop registration (at the student rate), hotel, and transportation.
The award will be will be handled via reimbursements. Each legitimate expense must be documented with an original official receipt (e.g., air ticket and hotel receipt). Further details of the reimbursement procedure will be communicated to the award recipients. *** IMPORTANT: Following the requirements of the U.S. NSF, all applicants to this travel grant must be U.S. citizens or permanent residents.
